About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Community Mental Health Team in South Derbyshire and Dales. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with service users, families, and carers to provide high-quality occupational therapy services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with service users with functional and organic illnesses, using excellent assessment skills, risk management skills, and communication skills to build therapeutic relationships.
  • Carry a caseload of patients with varying needs, using your knowledge and application of theoretical models of practice.
  • Work as part of a knowledgeable, supportive, and forward-thinking team, committed to supporting and guiding learning and development.
  • Collaborate with our Voluntary partners and Primary Care to provide comprehensive care.
  • Receive regular clinical, managerial, and peer supervision, as well as access to a wide range of development opportunities.
Requirements
  • HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with a degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • Ability to apply core OT skills in a mental health setting, including carrying out occupational assessments and setting occupational goals.
  • Well-developed motivational and negotiating skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work autonomously and set own priorities.
