Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead a pharmacy team providing clinical services to the Acute Medicine & Rehabilitation (AMR) directorate at Oxford University Hospitals. As the Directorate Pharmacist for Acute Medicine, you will have the opportunity to develop a specialist clinical role and lead pharmacy services to a standalone hospital site.

Key responsibilities include developing pharmacy services across the AMR directorate, which includes Medicine, Stroke, Ambulatory Shortstay, Admissions, Emergency department, Ambulatory and hospital at home. You will lead on the vision and strategy for this directorate, including writing business cases and mentoring junior pharmacists to optimise patient flow.

The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating and supporting the learning and development of the pharmacy team, including appraisal, diploma tutoring and pre-registration pharmacist training. Previous experience in a medical setting is desirable but not essential.

Main Duties of the Job

We are looking for a highly motivated, confident and enthusiastic pharmacist with a demonstrable competency in hospital pharmacy practice. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an ability to think creatively, use their initiative and have a strong commitment to improving patient outcomes and experience.
