Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to provide clinical pharmacy services to patients within the Acute Medicine & Rehabilitation Directorate. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a team of experienced Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacists, and Pharmacy Assistants to ensure the safe and effective use of medicines at a ward level.
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of medicines management and a flexible approach to working. This role is ideal for registered Pharmacy Technicians accredited in medicines management looking to build on their clinical experience or newly qualified Pharmacy Technicians looking to start their career in a ward-based role.
Main Duties:
- Undertake medicines reconciliation for patients admitted to units within the Acute Medicine & Rehabilitation (AMR) directorate.
- Improve the quality of clinical care to patients in the Acute Medicine & Rehabilitation (AMR) directorate by means of an efficient medicines management system.
- Provide a clinical pharmacy service that ensures the safe and cost-effective use of medications, including reviewing ward stock lists.
- Participate in the education and training of other members of the pharmacy and multidisciplinary teams.
- Participate in audits as per Trust requirements, for example Safe & Secure Storage of Medicines and Controlled Drug audits.

The successful candidate will be an active member of the Pharmacy department and AMR Pharmacy Team, ensuring continuous two-way exchange of information to maintain high standards with the Trust.
