About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Children and Families Support Worker. In this role, you will be responsible for providing holistic support to children and young people affected by parental substance misuse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective interventions to support children and young people, including group work, one-to-one support, and whole family interventions.
  • Work closely with families to identify and address potential safeguarding issues and reduce drug and alcohol-related harm.
  • Collaborate with other agencies to identify families who would benefit from a Think Family/Whole Family approach and negotiate participation and engagement.
  • Provide support and guidance to young people to help them achieve positive, holistic outcomes in relation to their health and wellbeing.
  • Work flexibly across sites as required to meet the needs of the service.
About You

We are looking for an individual with:

  • Experience of working with young people and knowledge of the issues they face.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding concerns in relation to children and young people and the Fraser Competence framework.
  • Excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working within a related field.
  • Knowledge of working with evidence-based practice around young people's substance misuse treatment services and methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
