Program Overview

This comprehensive apprenticeship is designed for ambitious individuals interested in working in the private sector, particularly those with military experience or backgrounds. As an Amazon apprentice, you'll have the opportunity to develop skills, expand your horizons, and embark on a transformative journey.

The program focuses on hands-on training and real-world applications, allowing you to apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings. You'll work alongside experienced technicians to develop expertise across multiple engineering disciplines, including electrical, electronic, and control systems, mechanical engineering principles, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and safe working practices.

Throughout the apprenticeship, you'll work towards an Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering (Mechatronics Maintenance), gaining both practical experience and industry-recognized qualifications. The first year includes full-time residential training at one of our training provider facilities, while subsequent years involve day or block release training at a specialist college and on-the-job training in our operations warehouses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation, testing, and commissioning of new automated equipment
  • Fault finding, troubleshooting, and rectification of issues
  • Planned and preventative maintenance activities
  • Modifications and upgrades to existing equipment

You'll be expected to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating good problem-solving abilities and a genuine passion for engineering and technology.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be eligible for this apprenticeship, you must:

  • Be a UK national, or a non-UK national with the right to work in the UK, or an EU national with settled status in the UK
  • Reside in the UK for the entire duration of the program
  • Not be registered to study on a UK government-funded course ending August 2025 or later
  • Be 18 years old or older before entering an Amazon building
  • Hold a minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent): Maths, English, and a science/technology subject
