Job Overview
">The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Economist to join its team in London. As a key member of the Office of the Chief Economist, you will be responsible for leading research projects in areas pertinent to the Bank's operations in transition economies.
">Responsibilities

- Manage large-scale, complex research projects, including randomised controlled trials and multi-country surveys, requiring exceptional project management, budgeting, people, and logistical skills.">
- Lead and manage a research program in one or several thematic areas, providing research-based guidance to senior management within EBRD and communicating externally on these issues.">
- Publish research in top-rated, peer-reviewed academic journals, with a track record of research in fields relevant to EBRD, such as development economics, industrial organisation, economic growth, labour economics, international trade, environmental economics, or finance.">
- Organize research conferences or EBRD's Annual Economics Symposium, interacting closely and independently with other teams in the EBRD, such as Banking, Corporate Strategy, and VP Policy.">
- Support EBRD colleagues with research-based analysis and advice, providing intellectual leadership and communicating on EBRD's research-based views on specific global economic trends.">
Requirements
">To succeed in this role, you will need:

- A PhD in economics or a related field, with a strong proven ability to translate complex research findings into clear policy advice.">
- Exceptional communication skills in English, both verbal and written, at the standard required for professional publication and official representation.">
- Strong knowledge of economic policy issues facing transition economies and emerging markets, with fluency in one or more of the languages of the EBRD regions being an advantage.">
- Experience in team management, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with stakeholders.">
