Job Overview

The Senior Economist Leader is a highly skilled professional responsible for leading and managing research programs in one or several thematic areas. This role requires an experienced authority and intellectual lead on these areas, providing research-based guidance to senior management within the EBRD as well as communicating externally and authoritatively on these issues.

This position involves publishing research in top-rated, peer-reviewed academic journals, managing large-scale, complex, and multi-year/multi-country impact assessments and surveys, including generating internal donor funding and/or external funding. Additionally, this role includes independently managing one or several chapters of OCE's annual Transition Report and other research-based policy reports.

With a Ph.D. in Economics or Finance from a leading university, this professional must have a track record of research in fields relevant to EBRD, with strong proven ability to translate complex research findings into clear policy advice. They must also have excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, at the standard required for professional publication and official representation.
