Structural Engineer Job Description

Our client, a leading provider of latent defect and inherent defect insurance warranty auditing and clerk of works delivery, is seeking a Chartered Engineer (CEng) to join their team in a remote or hybrid role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review initial design intent for residential and commercial structures up to RIBA Stage 4 design
  • RIBA Stage 5 review of as-built and part-built structures on site locations and reporting
  • Review of structural calculations
  • Review of RC and Steel frames structures
  • Review of various foundation types; pile, mass fill, strip high-rise buildings
Requirements:
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) qualification
  • In-depth technical knowledge of Structural Engineering principles applicable to Building Regulations and other relevant construction standards
  • Experience across a broad range of building structures, with a distinct advantage in high-rise structural frames
  • Understanding of Building Regulations and associated legislation
  • Ability to undertake site inspections to assess compliance with approved design, Technical Manual, and Codes of Practice
  • Commercial awareness and ability to work as part of a team
  • Flexible personal approach
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car for business use
