You will support the manager in overseeing the daily operations of the residential setting, ensuring the highest standards of care and support are provided to our students. This includes motivating and coaching a team of care staff, managing their performance through regular supervision and appraisal, and ensuring they provide high-quality care.
Main Responsibilities:
- Supervise and appraise staff to ensure they meet the required standards, record keeping accurately.
- Take charge of the team in the manager's absence, making informed decisions regarding rostering and staff deployment.
- Maintain open and effective communication channels with senior management, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Contribute to assessments and care planning for our students, ensuring their unique needs are met.
- Support the recruitment process by participating in interviews and assessing candidate suitability.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in a care management or leadership role.
- Strong understanding of learning disabilities and special needs.
- Able to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
