Veterinary Surgeon Opportunity in South West Scotland

We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in Stranraer, Dumfries and Galloway. This is a locum position starting on October 2024 and ending on January 2025, with 6 days per week.
Job OverviewThis role offers the successful candidate a supportive and well-equipped environment where they can provide top-notch care to small animals.
The key responsibilities of this role include delivering high-quality veterinary care, diagnosing and treating various conditions, communicating effectively with pet owners, maintaining accurate medical records, and collaborating with veterinary teams.
- Delivering High-Quality Care: The successful candidate will deliver high-quality veterinary care to small animals in accordance with best practices.
- Diagnosing and Treating Conditions: The Veterinary Surgeon will diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
- Effective Communication: The successful candidate will communicate effectively with pet owners, providing them with guidance on preventive care and treatment plans.
- Accurate Record Keeping: The Veterinary Surgeon will maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
- Team Collaboration: The successful candidate will collaborate with veterinary teams to provide comprehensive care.
To be successful in this role, applicants must possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A veterinary degree from an accredited institution.
- A current license to practice as a veterinarian in the UK.
- Strong diagnostic, surgical, and medical skills, with experience in small animal care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- An ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 19:00, and Saturday, 08:00 - 13:00.
