Weighbridge Operator

We are seeking a skilled Weighbridge Operative to join our team at Leaton Quarry, Shropshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively and efficiently operating the weighbridge, ensuring accurate and timely weighing of materials, and maintaining a high level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate the weighbridge to accurately weigh in and out materials, recording all necessary information for invoicing.
- Direct goods inwards to the correct stockpile/location, ensuring efficient and safe operation.
- Control the entry to site of all customers, lorries, and visitors, maintaining a secure and organized environment.
- Record time of despatch and return of trucks bringing raw materials to site, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
- Ensure the general working of the weighbridge area, including the upkeep and cleanliness of equipment and workstations, maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.
- Following training, undertake site inspections (Environmental and/or Health and Safety), reporting defects and issues to the site manager.
- Take telephone orders from customers, recording orders in the diary, and keep customers aware of any delays.
- Ensure customer accounts are in order before permitting customers to load, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Excellent communication skills, including oral communication, especially with customers on the telephone, as well as in person with delivery personnel and drivers.
- Organized and analytical skills to successfully operate the Weighbridge computer package.
- Confidence and interpersonal skills to deal with a diverse range of contacts, with previous experience in this type of role being a distinct advantage.
- Good numeracy skills for quick and accurate data processing.
- Working with all members of the team to continually raise the Health, Safety, and Environmental standards of the Company.
