Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Weighbridge Operative to become a vital part of our team. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the weighbridge operations effectively and efficiently.

Note: This position is offered on a Fixed Term basis of 6 months, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role. The role requires full-time presence on-site, including working alternate weekends, with no night shifts involved.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately weigh materials entering and exiting the site while documenting all necessary details for invoicing purposes.
  • Guide incoming goods to the appropriate stockpile or location.
  • Manage site access for all customers, vehicles, and visitors.
  • Record the timing of dispatch and return for trucks delivering raw materials.
  • Maintain the functionality and cleanliness of the weighbridge area and associated equipment.
  • After training, conduct various site inspections related to Environmental and Health and Safety standards, reporting any issues to the site manager.
Customer Service Duties
  • Handle telephone orders from customers and maintain accurate records.
  • Keep customers informed about any potential delays.
  • Ensure customer accounts are in order prior to allowing loading.
Required Skills and Expertise
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, particularly in interactions with customers and delivery personnel.
  • Organizational and analytical skills to proficiently operate the Weighbridge computer system.
  • Confidence and interpersonal skills to engage with a diverse range of contacts. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous, though training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Good numerical abilities for swift and precise data processing.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance the Health, Safety, and Environmental standards of the organization.
