Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Weighbridge Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the management and operation of the weighbridge, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately weigh materials entering and exiting the site, maintaining detailed records for invoicing purposes.
  • Guide incoming goods to the appropriate stockpile or location.
  • Manage site access for customers, vehicles, and visitors.
  • Document the timing of dispatch and return for trucks delivering raw materials.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of the weighbridge area and equipment.
  • Conduct various site inspections related to Environmental and Health and Safety standards, reporting any issues to management.
Customer Service Duties
  • Handle customer telephone orders and maintain an organized record of these orders.
  • Communicate any delays to customers promptly.
  • Ensure customer accounts are in good standing before allowing loading.
Required Skills and Expertise
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, particularly in interactions with customers and delivery personnel.
  • Organizational and analytical skills to effectively operate the weighbridge computer system.
  • Interpersonal skills to engage with a diverse range of contacts; prior experience in a similar role is advantageous, though training will be provided.
  • Numeracy skills for efficient and accurate data processing.
