The Role:

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and direction for the English department developing and implementing a comprehensive and innovative curriculum.
  • Inspire and Engage: Lead and inspire a team of dedicated English teachers fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment.
  • Curriculum Development: Oversee the planning and delivery of a dynamic and enriching English curriculum that promotes critical thinking creativity and a deep appreciation for language and literature.
  • Promote Excellence: Encourage and support students to achieve high standards in English fostering a love of reading writing and communication.
  • Manage Resources: Effectively manage the departments budget and resources ensuring the provision of highquality teaching materials and learning technologies.

Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified Teacher: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a genuine passion for English education.
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrate successful leadership experience in an English department or similar setting.
  • Subject Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of English language literature and pedagogy with experience teaching across Key Stages 3 4 and 5.
  • Inspiring Leader: Be a highly motivated and inspiring leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Work effectively with colleagues students and parents to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
