Culinary Operations Manager

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Operations Manager to lead our kitchen team at Beaumont Care Homes. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality catering services to our residents, ensuring their nutritional needs are met, and maintaining a safe and clean kitchen environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a team of kitchen colleagues to deliver exceptional catering services.
- Develop and implement menus in consultation with residents, families, and catering committees, ensuring dietary needs are met and best practice guidance is followed.
- Prepare, cook, and serve meals, considering special needs and dietary requirements.
- Plan and deliver set four-weekly menus, ensuring substitutions are authorized and allergen changes are communicated effectively.
- Manage the catering budget and work within agreed parameters.
- Engage with residents, relatives, visitors, and colleagues to continually improve quality of life and service levels.
- Ensure compliance with our Food Safety Management System and maintain a safe kitchen environment.
- Monitor and replenish kitchen and food stocks, maintaining accurate records.
- Supervise kitchen colleagues, alerting the Home Manager to any difficulties.
- Ensure high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food preparation are maintained.
- Report equipment defects to the Home Manager and Maintenance Person in a timely manner.
- Conduct annual appraisals and quarterly staff supervision and development plans.
General Responsibilities
Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of yourself and others while at work, alerting officers to any hazards or potential risks. Be fully conversant with our policies relating to Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults and Whistleblowing. Maintain confidentiality around personal or commercially sensitive issues. Establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, residents, visitors, and other health professionals and agencies. Act as an ambassador for Beaumont Care Homes' Vision and Values. Promote equality and diversity at all times and across all work activities. Adhere to our policies and procedures. Attend mandatory training days/courses as required.
Requirements
- Nutrition Science for the elderly or equivalent.
- 2 years relevant experience as a Chef or Cook.
- Chef Qualification.
- Food Hygiene Certificate.
- HACCP Documentation.
