Culinary Operations Manager

The successful candidate will lead a team of kitchen colleagues to deliver a high-quality catering service to residents within the care home. This includes preparing nutritious meals, catering to individual dietary needs, and maintaining a safe and clean kitchen environment.
Key Duties- Lead and motivate a team of kitchen colleagues to deliver exceptional catering services.
- Understand and cater to the individual nutritional needs and choices of residents.
- Prepare menus in consultation with the Home Manager, residents, families, and catering committees.
- Prepare, cook, and serve meals, ensuring special needs are fully considered and catered for.
- Plan and deliver set four-weekly menus, ensuring any substitutions have prior authorization.
- Manage the catering budget and work within agreed parameters.
- Engage with residents, relatives, visitors, and colleagues to continually improve the quality of life and level of service provided.
- Prepare beverages and snacks throughout the day, around the needs and choices of residents.
- Ensure the quantity and quality of all food served meet required nutritional standards.
- Comply with the Company Food Safety Management System and maintain a safe kitchen environment.
- Monitor and replenish kitchen and food stocks, maintaining records in line with Company procedures.
- Supervise all other kitchen colleagues and alert the Home Manager to any difficulties.
- Ensure high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food preparation are maintained at all times.
- Report any defects of equipment to the Home Manager and Maintenance Person in a timely manner.
- Carry out annual appraisals for kitchen colleagues under the supervision of the Home Manager.
- Conduct quarterly staff supervision and personal development plans as required.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of themselves and others while at work, including colleagues, residents, and visitors to the care home. They will also be expected to be fully conversant with the Beaumont policies relating to Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults and Whistleblowing.
RequirementsThe ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary operations, with experience in leading a team and managing a kitchen environment. They will also possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, colleagues, and external partners.
