Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced vascular scientist to join our team in the Vascular Ultrasound department at Royal Bournemouth Hospital for a fixed-term of 12 months to cover maternity leave. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vascular ultrasound and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Perform and independently report on a range of vascular ultrasound diagnostic investigations, including peripheral arterial and venous duplex, carotid duplex, DVT scanning, ABPI measurement, and mapping/monitoring of dialysis access patients.
  • Assist in the teaching and supervision of trainees and participate in departmental audits.
  • Work closely with other members of the department to achieve best possible results and prioritize workload by triaging in-patient requests.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, consultants, and other clinical staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • BSc in a Science subject or equivalent.
  • Accredited Vascular Scientist with the Society for Vascular Technology of Great Britain & Ireland or completion of Vascular STP training.
  • HCPC Registration (desirable).
  • Experience in Doppler ABPI testing, vein scanning, and vascular measurement techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under pressure and in a busy clinical setting.
