About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Out of School Care Practitioner to join our team at St. Helen's Primary Out Of School Care. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and supervision to children aged 4-12 years, ensuring their safety, health, and well-being at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and support to staff, playworkers, and volunteers
  • Set up and maintain a safe and engaging play environment
  • Plan and deliver quality play opportunities that cater to children's diverse needs and interests
  • Provide comprehensive care, including collecting children from classrooms and handing them over to parents or carers
  • Administer first aid when necessary and maintain accurate records
  • Develop and maintain good communication with children, staff, and parents
  • Work within the framework of our policies and procedures, SSSC Codes of Practice, and Health and Social Care Standards
Requirements
  • SVQ Level III/HNC in Childcare & Education or Playwork or equivalent
  • Experience of working with children aged 4-12 years
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work as a team member and demonstrate initiative
  • Understanding of child protection and equal opportunities principles
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience of working in a supervisory or management capacity
  • Experience of administration and IT-based resources
  • Current First Aid and Food Hygiene Certificates
