About the Role

Carrington West is seeking a highly skilled Highway Engineer to join our team in Hampshire. As a Senior Engineer, you will play a key role in assisting in basic planning, monitoring, and programming, as well as controlling and minimizing waste on site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in basic planning, monitoring, and programming.
  • Control and minimize waste on site.
  • Coordinate site engineering control and setting out activities and provide information to operatives and subcontractors.
  • Undertake material reconciliations.
  • Ensure all surveying equipment is calibrated.
  • Carry out as-built surveys on complete works and drawings.
  • Produce 2D & 3D site sketches.
  • Support the Site Agent in project planning and coordination.
  • Coordinate subcontractors to meet project deadlines.
  • Draft, review, and implement Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Develop and implement Inspection Test Plans (ITP's).
  • Ensure adherence to ITP's and engineering standards.
  • Update project schedules and attend coordination meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records including site diaries and quality assurance documents.
Requirements
  • Advanced setting out techniques.
  • Relevant Civil Engineering experience (Preferred Highways, will accept experience in Rail, water or aviation).
  • Problem solving skills.
  • NVQ Level 3 or higher.
  • SMSTS.
  • Relevant CSCS card.
  • Office 365 expertise/CAD.
