Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Power Systems Technical Support Specialist to join our team at GE Aviation. As a key member of our Power Conversion business, you will provide technical support for Industrial and Marine Power Systems, working closely with customers and local engineering teams to resolve issues and drive technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Liaise with customers and field service engineers to resolve technical issues, identifying and implementing software and hardware modifications as needed.
  2. Support Power Systems commissioning activities, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  3. Take ownership of technical issues, driving them to conclusion through effective problem-solving and collaboration.
  4. Provide technical guidance and support to customers, commercial teams, and site teams on Power Systems applications.
  5. Contribute to lessons learned and feed back into design standards, ensuring continuous improvement.
  6. Ensure recommendations, solutions, and advice are technically compliant and safe.
  7. Collaborate with sales teams to advise on technical aspects of bids for upgrades or new systems.
  8. Drive improvements in products, processes, and procedures, enhancing overall efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  1. A relevant degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, or significant experience in an electrical or industrial engineering environment.
  2. Comprehensive knowledge of Power Systems (HV & LV), including alternators, grounding systems, switchboards, protection relays, AVRs, transformers, power electronic converters, etc.
  3. Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  4. Strong customer service orientation and proactive problem-solving abilities.
  5. Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas for short-term working.
  6. Valid UK/EU passport to meet travel requirements.
  7. Possession of or ability to obtain BPSS security clearance.
