Job Title: Transport Supervisor

Menzies Distribution Limited is seeking a highly skilled Transport Supervisor to join our team in Louth. As a key member of our transport operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of transport plans, meeting transport and network SLAs/KPIs, and developing efficient routes to maximize vehicle capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement transport plans to achieve transport and network SLAs/KPIs
  • Collaborate with the planning centre to ensure accurate and efficient route planning
  • Manage and coordinate the activities of site planners to ensure compliance with transport legislation, health and safety, and customer service requirements
  • Source local agency drivers and sub-contractors as needed, ensuring accurate briefs and documentation
  • Monitor and track driver performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions
  • Manage operational costs and identify cost performance trends, including fuel performance and accidents
  • Liaise with driver agencies for ad-hoc and peak driver support

Requirements:

  • People management skills and experience in a busy transport office
  • Knowledge of drivers' hours, tachograph, and WTD legislation
  • Commercial understanding and knowledge of transport systems
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure
