We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial management of a variety of projects under the Wales & Western Stations and Buildings Work Contract for Control Period 7 (CP7). This framework, covering 2024 to 2029, includes maintenance and renewals of canopies, buildings, depots, platform structures, car parks, and subways.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee project financial performance, ensuring profit targets and efficiency savings are achieved.
  • Administer change control processes and adhere to contractual timescales.
  • Identify and manage risks and opportunities effectively.
  • Deliver compliant procurement processes and manage the supply chain.
  • Handle commercial queries and advise on legal matters, including disputes.
  • Conduct internal and external audits as required.
  • Manage subcontracts, including preparation and negotiation of claims and payments.
  • Monitor project progress, conduct site visits, and maintain financial logs and forecasts.
  • Prepare and attend monthly cost review meetings, identifying variations and actions.
  • Ensure compliance with Octavius Infrastructure's and clients' assurance processes and legislative requirements.
  • Manage or mentor team members.
  • Build strong relationships with project teams, clients, and suppliers, fostering a culture of professionalism and collaboration.

Requirements:
  • Extensive success in a Senior Quantity Surveying role, working on multiple and large projects.
  • Demonstrable experience of coaching, mentoring, and managing people.
  • Experience in a civil engineering environment.
  • NEC Contract Experience.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Professional membership with RICS or CICES (desirable).
