Platform Engineer Role

At Entain, we are seeking a skilled Platform Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud-based platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cloud System Design: Leads cloud system design activities, ensuring that solutions meet expected levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, and reliability.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code: Supports the architecture and implementation of infrastructure-as-code and policy-as-code objectives.
  • Automation and DevOps: Manages automation initiatives for cloud infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, self-service, and DevOps deployment.
  • Platform Maintenance: Maintains and operates platform components and tools, monitoring availability, latency, and system health.
  • Collaboration: Collaborates with business stakeholders and product owners to scope and de-risk development activities.
  • Infrastructure Security: Identifies, analyzes, and resolves infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
  • Process Improvement: Supports the implementation of ways to improve working processes within the area of cloud engineering responsibility.
  • Mentorship: Mentors other cloud engineers, helping to improve the team's abilities.
Requirements:
  • Cloud Experience: Has been involved in cloud initiatives, contributed to Platform Engineering groups, and helped deliver key infrastructure for core initiatives.
  • Cloud Platforms: Expert working knowledge and understanding of cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and the ability to implement and optimize cloud architectures.
  • Monitoring Tools: Strong experience with monitoring tools and providing the right level of observability and monitoring for product engineering teams.
  • Communication: Must be very comfortable working, communicating with, and regularly presenting to highly technical software engineers, cloud engineers, product/business leaders, and executive leadership.
