Senior Cloud Architect


Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We are looking for an experienced Cloud Architect to join our Clients growing team. As a leader within our Clients organisation, you will report directly to the CTO and play a key role in shaping their product offerings in vital areas such as security, availability, and performance.


What You’ll Do:

  • Client Engagement: Collaborate with sales and implementation teams to understand client requirements, produce initial designs, and develop cost and scale models.
  • Documentation Ownership: Ensure engineers have comprehensive documentation for implementing and upgrading customer systems.
  • Technical Approvals: Act as the technical approver for significant changes passing through the Change Advisory Board (CAB).
  • Best Practices: Produce, review, and enforce best practices for cloud and deployment tools.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and act as an advocate for this approach across the organisation.
  • Reference Architecture: Develop key reference architectures for system sizing, throughput, and processing capability.
  • Security Assurance: Ensure adherence to best practices for system safety and security against threats.
  • Technical Escalation: Serve as a technical escalation point for various teams to resolve incidents and problems as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Planixs organization to optimize tool efficiency.


What You Bring:

  • Technical Expertise: Significant experience with diverse technologies, including programming languages, operating systems, storage, networking, virtualization, and automation.
  • Linux Skills: Strong Linux system administration skills and experience with scripting and scheduling.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Expertise in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Helm).
  • Messaging Technologies: Knowledge of integration technologies like IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, or Apache Kafka.
  • Cloud Platforms: Proficient in AWS, with certification preferred.
  • Adaptability: Quick learning in dynamic environments and a continuous learner seeking improvement.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills with experience engaging external clients.
  • Financial Services Experience: Preferred experience in software delivery within financial services.


Key Technologies:

  • AWS, Linux (Redhat), Ansible, Terraform (ideally Terragrunt)
  • Strong focus on automation and continuous improvement
  • Understanding of Networking with AWS


What We Offer:

  • Location: 2 days per week in their Manchester office.
  • Compensation: Base salary of £80,000.
