About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) team at Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will play a vital role in providing specialist psychological assessments, individual therapy, family interventions, and group work to young people aged 16-35 who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide specialist psychological assessments and interventions to young people with psychosis and their families.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Offer consultation on psychological approaches to working with psychosis and provide training and supervision to qualified, assistant, and trainee psychologists.
- Contribute to the development and evaluation of services, including the application of psychology in different cultural contexts.

Person Specification
- Qualified Clinical Psychologist eligible for chartered status.
- Knowledge of Early Intervention Psychosis Services.
- Experience of exercising clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment within a multidisciplinary team.
- Well-developed skills in communication, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to convey complex information to clients, families, carers, and professional colleagues.
- Ability to identify, provide, and promote appropriate support to carers and staff exposed to distressing situations and challenging behaviors.
