Job Summary
Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled and motivated CAMHS Mental Health Practitioner to join our Community CAMHS East team. The successful candidate will work with a range of professionals from various agencies, including social care, acute care, and community and voluntary sector teams, within the context of CAPA and CYP-IAPT.
Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will provide mental health assessments and interventions to children, young people, and their families, working closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team. They will also offer a variety of specialist interventions under the Thrive framework, including family work and group work.

Job Responsibilities
- To be responsible for a caseload of complex assessment, treatment, and consultation work with children, adolescents, and their families, with problems of emotional, psychological, or mental health difficulties.
- To operate as a member of the multidisciplinary team providing child and adolescent mental health services.
- To work in ways which are sensitive to and appropriate for the needs of families from a wide range of racial, cultural, and religious backgrounds, including the ability to understand and offer therapeutic interventions to a variety of family forms.
Person Specification
Essential
- RMN, RGN, or RSCN qualification.
- Clinical or Counselling Psychologist qualification (Post-graduate doctorate in clinical psychology or its equivalent prior to 1996, as accredited by the BPS, or fully completed training as a V Counselling Psychologist).
- Systemic or Family Therapist qualification (Masters/Doctoral level qualification with post-graduate qualification in an appropriate mental health/social welfare profession).
- Social Worker or recognised earlier equivalent qualification to practice such as CQSW, Dip.
- Registration with HCPC/BACP.
- Evidence of CPD.
- Specialist training in an appropriate area and knowledge of CAPA and CYP-IAPT.
- CBT Therapist qualification.
Desirable
- Further training/qualification in a relevant area of practice, such as Family Therapy, Child Psychotherapy, CBT, Group Therapy, Counselling, or Play Therapy to Master's degree level or equivalent.
