About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Gardener to join our team at Nymans, a renowned garden in the National Trust. As a key member of our garden team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the garden to a high standard and contributing to the delivery of an exceptional visitor experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the maintenance and development of the garden, including practical horticultural tasks and the conservation of our living collection.
  • Work alongside other gardeners to ensure the garden is maintained to a high standard and that visitors have an amazing experience.
  • Supervise volunteers and prioritize workloads to ensure the garden is well-managed and maintained.
  • Contribute to the delivery of excellent visitor experience by helping to tell the story of our remarkable collection and history.
Requirements
  • Trained as a professional gardener/horticulturist with a minimum of RHS Level 2 (or equivalent) and experience with hard landscaping.
  • A love for sharing knowledge and experience with volunteers, staff, and visitors, with a great eye for detail.
  • Experience with machinery, including tractors, chainsaws, rotary and cylinder mowers, and some knowledge of maintenance.
  • A driver with a full licence and able to manage a demanding outdoor role.
  • Good at talking to and getting on with all kinds of people and able to keep to time, plan, and meet deadlines.
