About the Role

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Apprentice Structural Engineer to join our team at Perega (formerly Thomasons Limited). As a key member of our design team, you will play a vital role in assisting senior staff with civil and structural design work, ensuring tasks are delivered as briefed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute work as directed by senior staff, demonstrating a proactive approach to tasks and a commitment to quality.
  • Assist with the production of technical design information, including drawings and calculations, using computer design software packages.
  • Produce designs and calculations in accordance with quality procedures, adhering to company policies and best practices.
  • Liaise effectively with design team members, fostering strong communication and collaboration.
  • Comply with company policies and adopt a 'best practice' approach to work.
  • Able to work within programme constraints, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • Be proactive in self-development, seeking opportunities for growth and improvement.
Requirements
  • Aptitude for Maths, English, and Science, with a strong understanding of mathematical concepts.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within and across teams and project groups.
  • Proactive approach to work, with a commitment to continual improvement at a personal and company level.
  • Able to use computer design software packages and understand engineering concepts.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A level in Physics and/or BTEC Engineering, demonstrating a strong foundation in engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of design software and its limitations, with the ability to adapt to new tools and technologies.
