About the Role

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Apprentice Structural Engineer to join our team at Perega (formerly Thomasons Limited). As a key member of our design team, you will assist senior staff in delivering civil and structural design work, ensuring tasks are completed as briefed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute work as directed by senior staff, maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
  • Assist in the production of technical design information, including drawings and calculations, in accordance with company procedures.
  • Produce designs and calculations that meet quality standards, adhering to best practices and company policies.
  • Liaise effectively with design team members to ensure seamless collaboration and communication.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, adopting a proactive approach to self-development and continuous improvement.
  • Work within programme constraints, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively to meet deadlines.
Requirements
  • Aptitude for Maths, English, and Science, with a strong understanding of mathematical concepts.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Proactive approach to work, with a commitment to continual improvement at a personal and company level.
  • Able to use computer design software packages, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within and across teams and project groups.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A level in Physics and/or BTEC Engineering, demonstrating a strong foundation in engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of design software and its limitations, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
