  • We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Specialist to join our team in King's Lynn, Norfolk.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and patient individual to support students with special educational needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment. As a Senior Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other staff to implement individualized education plans and foster positive relationships with students.

Duties and Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students in their learning and personal development;
  • Assisting with classroom activities to ensure a safe and engaging environment;
  • Working closely with teachers and other staff to implement individualized education plans;
  • Fostering positive relationships with students to enhance their confidence and independence;
  • Helping with personal care and any additional needs as required.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably in an academic or similar care setting;
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach, with the ability to establish rapport with students and gain their trust;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with students, colleagues, and parents/carers;
  • A positive attitude, flexibility, and resilience in handling challenging situations;
  • Relevant qualifications/certificates (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools, Autism Awareness, Makaton, etc.) are desirable but not essential.
