Occupational Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Children's Occupational Therapy Technician to join our team at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our Occupational Therapists to assess, implement, and evaluate occupational therapy interventions for children with physical and sensory, communication and interaction, and cognition and learning needs.
Main Responsibilities- Assess and implement occupational therapy interventions for children with complex needs, working closely with our Occupational Therapists to ensure effective treatment plans.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with children, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based practice, staying up-to-date with the latest research and clinical guidelines.
- Support the supervision of trainees and students, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure their success.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote high-quality care.

Person SpecificationWe are looking for individuals with a strong background in occupational therapy, preferably with experience working with children with complex needs. A training to NVQ level 3 or equivalent, and additional CPD courses relevant to the role, are essential. Functional Skills at Level 2 in Literacy and numeracy, and GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in English and Maths, are also required.
