Kidney Psychosocial Support Nurse

About the Job:
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Kidney Psychosocial Support Nurse to enhance mental health provision within the King's College Hospital Renal Unit. As a key member of the renal multidisciplinary team, you will assess, plan and provide appropriate interventions, using evidence-based models of care.
The department provides comprehensive psychosocial care through its Kidney Psychosocial Team, which is comprised of three psychological therapists, two social workers and a specialist mental health nurse, with dedicated input from a consultant psychiatrist.
Main Duties of the Job:
- To work as a highly experienced mental health practitioner, carrying out specialist assessments and interventions as part of the renal/kidney multidisciplinary team.
- Enhance integrated working between the renal MDT and mental health teams to improve access to care, health outcomes and experience.
- Liaison between the renal unit and community mental health teams, initiating and facilitating interventions as part of the renal MDT.
Person Specification:
- Significant post-qualification experience in mental health services, both inpatient and community
- Experience working within mental health crisis care
- Experience of managing acute risk in the context of mental illness, physical health and psychological distress
Salary and Benefits:
