Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nursery Nurse to join our team at Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Nursery Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to children from 6 months old to Reception age.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging activities and play opportunities to promote children's development within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Compile and maintain accurate development records for children and report to the Team Leader at agreed intervals.
  • Provide a stimulating, friendly, and caring environment at all times, ensuring the safety and well-being of children.
  • Demonstrate good practice in safeguarding children and child protection, working closely with the nursery and area SENCO as required.
  • Build strong relationships with children and their families, providing key care and support.
  • Work collaboratively with Early Years and other professional teams to continuously improve the quality of childcare and education.

Requirements
  • NVQ 3 in childcare or equivalent qualification.
  • An understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and its principles.
  • A knowledge of safeguarding children and child protection.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
