Warehouse Team Manager

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Warehouse Team Manager to join our team at AF Blakemore & Son Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supporting the Operations Manager in the supervision of effective operations and adherence to H&S legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Operations Manager in the supervision of effective operations and adherence to H&S legislation
  • Carry out supervisory tasks as required by the Operations Manager
  • Cover areas of operations when low on resources as requested by the Operations Manager to ensure consistent operational performance
  • Ensure effective operations in the temporary absence of the Operations Manager
  • Assist with staff scheduling, including absence management and performance
  • Assist the Operations Manager in the effective use and maintenance of all equipment and machinery

Requirements:

  • Good level of Maths and English and working knowledge of Microsoft programmes - Word and Excel is desirable
  • Warehousing experience essential
  • Excellent communication skills and the capacity to build good working relationships with colleagues and customers
  • Strong organisation and time management skills essential
  • Ability to deal with conflict in an effective and professional manner
  • Shows a commitment to ongoing personal development and training, always striving to improve
  • First line Management experience and experience in managing people in a food distribution environment is essential
  • IT Literate and knowledge of using a WMS system would be an advantage
