Job Title: Domestic Transport Manager

We are seeking an experienced Transport Manager to join our team at Pilgrim Foodservice Ltd. in Boston. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing our transportation operations, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of goods to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the transportation operations, including planning, coordinating, and executing the movement of goods.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve transportation efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the field and telesales teams to understand customer needs and align transportation operations accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, including health and safety, food safety, and audit compliance.
  • Lead and manage a team of transport staff, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with transport providers, ensuring high-quality service and competitive pricing.
  • Monitor and analyze transportation performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
Requirements:
  • Valid Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
  • Experience in transportation management, preferably in a similar role.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Knowledge of transportation management systems, route optimization software, and other relevant technologies.
