About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Psychologist to join our team in Essex County Council. As an Educational Psychologist, you will play a vital role in applying psychology to improve the lives of children and young people in our county.

Our Educational Psychology Service is a dynamic and progressive team that is committed to delivering innovative approaches to meeting the needs of rapidly growing and diverse school communities. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about applying psychology to make a difference and is committed to continuous professional and practice development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply psychology to improve the lives of children and young people in Essex
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners and professional colleagues to deliver innovative approaches
  • Develop and implement evidence-based interventions and strategies
  • Provide support and guidance to schools and settings following a Critical Incident
  • Contribute to the development of the service and the improvement of outcomes for children and young people

Requirements
  • Eligible for Graduate membership with the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS)
  • Hold a Doctorate or a Masters degree in Professional Educational Psychology
  • Registered with the HCPC as a practitioner psychologist or will be eligible for registration with the HCPC at the end of their training
  • Good understanding of relevant legislation and evidence-based approaches and interventions
  • Commitment to applying psychology to make a difference to the lives of children and young people in Essex
