Job Description

The Career Development Specialist role offers an exciting opportunity to support young people in achieving their career goals.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Assess the needs of young people, identifying their barriers, career ambitions, and development areas.
• Develop relationships with key stakeholders to identify new employability programs and opportunities.
• Manage a caseload of young people, providing tailored support and guidance to help them progress into sustainable employment and apprenticeships.
• Deliver in-work support and advice to young people on employability programs, ensuring they sustain progression into apprenticeships and employment.
• Run group work sessions on interview techniques, job searches, CV improvements, and confidence building to prepare young people for interviews with employers.
• Complete goal-focused action plans for young people, preparing CVs, cover letters, and job application forms, and arranging interviews where appropriate.
• Develop strategic relationships with stakeholders and engage with the local community to identify young people for employability programs, and support the delivery of relevant events, job fairs, workshops, and seminars.
• Collate, complete, and demonstrate case studies, monitoring, and data inputting to ensure high contractual compliance standards and effective delivery of operational KPI targets.

Key Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with young people, employers, and stakeholders. They will also have a strong understanding of employability programs and be able to deliver high-quality support and guidance to young people. A degree in a related field or relevant experience is essential.
