ASD Teaching Assistant Position

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and patient ASD Teaching Assistant to join our partner primary school in the Selly Oak area. The successful candidate will provide 1:1 support to a Key Stage 1 child with ASD who is non-verbal. This is a long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent.
Key Responsibilities:
• Providing 1:1 support to a child with ASD
• Working with the child to develop their communication skills
• Collaborating with the school team to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
• Experience providing 1:1 support to children
• Knowledge of working with children with ASD, SLCN, and non-verbal communication needs
• Understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour
• TA qualifications or a relevant degree
About the School:
Our partner school is a warm and welcoming primary school located in Selly Oak. The school has a well-equipped SEND provision and a passionate and supportive SENCO and team. The school is renowned for its inclusive approach towards education and has great transport links and on-site parking.
