Head of Learning and Development

About the Role:
We are seeking an ambitious and student-focussed leader to join our College Management Team at Stoke on Trent College. As Head of Learning Maths, English and ESOL, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth strategies in these areas, including their development, innovation, and rigorous quality improvement processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on GCSE, ESOL and Functional Skills delivery for Study Programme learners, adults, and apprentices
- Develop and implement innovative teaching and learning strategies to improve student outcomes
- Collaborate with the Deputy Principal and curriculum management team to drive curriculum development and improvement
- Motivate colleagues to raise attainment and improve teaching and learning practices
- Ensure high standards of teaching and learning, including curriculum intent and implementation
Requirements:
- PGCE or equivalent, a degree, and relevant teaching experience
- Excellent understanding of curriculum intent and achieving high standards of teaching and learning
- Track record of strategic leadership of maths and English as a manager or as part of your development towards a next step into management
- Experience and success in motivating colleagues to raise attainment
- Innovation to deliver improvements in teaching and learning
