Technical Services Specialist

As a Technical Services Specialist at UK Research and Innovation, you will play a vital part in maintaining the mechanical systems of our research facilities. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from HVAC and plumbing systems to steam systems and compressed air.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, operate, and maintain mechanical building services, including HVAC, domestic water systems, steam systems, and compressed air.
- Perform fault-finding and maintenance tasks on mechanical automation equipment, such as autoclaves and sterilization equipment.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently, adhering to Health and Safety regulations and technical legislation.
- Collaborate with colleagues to provide exceptional customer service and support the success of scientific programs.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A recognized mechanical qualification, such as City & Guilds Level 2/3 in a mechanical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in a mechanical engineering role, with a strong understanding of industrial pipe fitting and arrangement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
