Medical Director

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Director to join our dynamic medical team at Kemple View, a CQC-rated OUTSTANDING hospital. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise in forensic, rehabilitation, and older adult psychiatry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be the named Responsible Clinician for 16 inpatients and hold Approved Clinician Status.
- Work collaboratively with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to monitor day-to-day progress and review care plans as needed.
- Participate in MDT reviews, complete risk assessments, and follow up on agreed actions.
- Liaise with external professionals, including robust discharge planning and aftercare arrangements.
- Provide line management and professional accountability for other medical colleagues on site.
- Work closely with the Hospital Director and site Senior Management Team to ensure the service is clinically safe, well-led, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Person Specification:
- Current GMC registration with a license to practice and be on the Specialist Register for Forensic Psychiatry, Rehabilitation Psychiatry, General Adult Psychiatry, or Older Adult Psychiatry.
- Appraisal within the last 12 months.
- Section 12 and Approved Clinician approval.
- Experience of working in an adult inpatient setting.
- Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent.
