About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Dietetic Service Lead to join our team at Hywel Dda University Health Board. As a key member of our Acute Nutrition Support team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of Clinical Lead Dietitians, working closely with our acute Dietetic leads, CNS nutrition nurses, professional practice nurses, and Malnutrition strategic lead to ensure Malnutrition is a key priority embedded operationally across acute pathways Health Board wide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of Clinical Lead Dietitians working in Acute Nutrition support HB wide, lead on recruitment and development plans, and workforce opportunities.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate the development of Nutrition support teams HB wide to optimize patient care and safety in line with NICE Clinical guidelines.
  • Set the direction of travel for Acute nutrition support and proactively lead and support clinical leads with performance reporting.
  • Develop and deliver education and training to support the development of Nutrition support teams.
  • Work closely with the clinical lead for Acute nutrition support (critical care) based in Glangwili Hospital and our acute clinical leads HB wide.
Requirements
  • Degree in Dietetics.
  • Professional registration with the HCPC.
  • Master's level education.
  • Significant accredited postgraduate specialist knowledge via training and study within relevant area of practice at master's level or equivalent.
  • Expert clinical knowledge of Acute Nutrition support.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply evidence-based methodology to support engagement, improvement, and transformation.
  • Knowledge of professional, national, and health board policy, standards, and guidance and the application to delivery of acute dietetic services.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Master's level qualification relevant to the role.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in research methodology.
  • Member of PENG.
  • Management/Leadership qualification.
  • Quality Improvement, Silver IQT.
  • Experience of leading national or professional network work.
  • Active participation in relevant professional networks or national groups.
  • Influencing or informing strategic work.
Language Skills

Welsh Speaker (Level 1) is desirable.
