Job Title: Duty Manager - Pool & Fitness Centre

Location: Salisbury

Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: £27,000 per annum

Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Duty Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre. The successful candidate will ensure the facilities are maintained to the highest standards and provide support for both school and external users.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facility Management: Oversee the day-to-day management of the swimming pool and fitness centre, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and readiness for use.
  • Key Holder: Act as a key holder, responsible for opening, closing, and securing the facilities according to the operational schedule.
  • Staff Management: Lead and motivate pool and fitness centre staff, manage rotas, and ensure compliance with safety and staffing requirements.
  • Health and Safety: Uphold health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with HSG179 and PWTAG guidelines.
  • Pool Plant Operations: Manage pool plant operations, including water quality, chemical dosing, and compliance with COSHH regulations.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the Head of Department to support school curriculum activities and external events.
Health & Safety:
  • Pool Safety: Ensure Pool Safety Operating Procedures and risk assessments are current and adhered to.
  • Pool Records: Maintain pool records, perform routine checks on equipment, and manage stock orders for replacement supplies.
  • Lifeguard Training: Support lifeguard training, including NPLQ qualifications and competency assessments.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Essential:
    • National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
    • Pool Plant Operator's Licence
    • First Aid at Work Certification
    • Experience in health & safety, team management, and customer service
    • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
