About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Engineer to join our team at Aldwych Consulting Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and developing project risk profiles and contingency plans to ensure they meet the required level of detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement risk strategies and methodologies to identify gaps and gather essential information for project cost estimation and risk management.
  • Improve the quality of available data and produce accurate risk registers and contingency plans.
  • Work closely with a team of risk engineers under the leadership of a Senior Engineer and be involved in a variety of projects, including infrastructure initiatives.
  • Liaise with the project team to establish the project scope and expectations.
  • Identify gaps in available information necessary for cost estimation and risk management.
  • Challenge project details and obtain any missing information to support the development of assumptions.
  • Track project progress and manage governance reviews and sign-offs.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to establish the project baseline, including scope, program, cost estimates, and contingency plans.
  • Ensure every project has an updated risk register.
Requirements
  • Strong leadership skills and expertise in running risk workshops.
  • Effective networking and collaboration skills.
  • Production and management of risk registers.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office packages.
  • Degree in Risk Management or a related field (preferably in construction or infrastructure).
  • Membership with Risk Engineers or Cost Engineers is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of two days working in the office, with overnight stays covered if required.
  • Proven experience in managing risk within gas construction or general construction infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in utilities and constructability, interpreting technical and cost-related information.
  • Must have a full driving license and access to a car.
  • Strong experience with stakeholder management and collaborative teamwork.
