We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Character Animation Specialist to join our team at Playground Games in Leamington Spa.

About Us

As a first-party Xbox Game Studio, we are passionate about creating games that are accessible, beautiful, and fun. We are excited to be rebooting the Fable franchise and expanding our diverse team to create a new classic in the action RPG genre.

Your Responsibilities

  1. Create high-quality key-frame and mocap animation assets for our game.
  2. Plan and deliver on your tasks with minimal management overhead.
  3. Mentor other staff and promote skills transfer throughout the team.
  4. Identify and raise risks and issues with work appropriately.
  5. Buildd strong relationships with your discipline and the wider Art team.
  6. Improve working practices throughout the team.

What You'll Bring

  1. A portfolio showcasing exceptional key-frame animation skills.
  2. Expertise in the principles of animation, such as spacing, timing, and posing.
  3. Proficiency in industry-standard animation tools, like Maya and Motion Builder.
  4. AAA Animation and Game Engine experience.
  5. Understanding of animation State Machines and Network Graphs.
  6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  7. PASSion for video games and the gaming industry.

Compensation and Benefits

Our salary range is £65,000 - £90,000 per annum, based on location and experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a hybrid work model with a minimum of 3 days a week in studio and relocation assistance if required.
