Job Title: Senior Centrifuge Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Centrifuge Engineer to join our team at Veolia. As a Senior Centrifuge Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a team of mechanical engineers and fitters, carrying out complex asset overhauls and replacements, and undertaking mechanical repairs and modifications of dewatering equipment, pumps, pipework, valves, and other ancillary equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of mechanical engineers and fitters in the installation, maintenance, and repair of dewatering equipment and ancillaries on sewage and clean water treatment facilities.
  • Carry out complex and detailed asset overhauls and replacements, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations.
  • Undertake complex mechanical repairs and modifications of dewatering equipment, pumps, pipework, valves, and other ancillary equipment.
  • Responsible for day-to-day on-site supervision of employees and subcontractors, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Undertake standby cover and overtime as required, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to meeting business needs.
  • Complete test reports, installation certificates, and customer feedback documents, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Complete customer paperwork, including permits to work and safety paperwork, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Work alongside on-site customer teams and subcontractors, fostering strong relationships and ensuring effective communication.
  • Liaise on site with customers as the primary point of contact, providing exceptional customer service and support.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in an industrial environment, with a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience leading mechanical installation, maintenance, or servicing works, with a proven track record of success.
  • Experience in leading the replacement of assets and maintaining the equipment typically found on water and sewage treatment plants.
  • NVQ or a recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering maintenance at Level 3, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Full UK Driving License, with a clean driving record.
  • Compex Trained, with a strong understanding of electrical systems and practices.
  • SSSTS Card, with a strong understanding of site safety and management practices.
  • Confined Space Trained, with a strong understanding of confined space safety and procedures.
  • First Aid Trained, with a strong understanding of first aid principles and practices.
  • IOSH Trained, with a strong understanding of occupational health and safety practices.
Desirable:
  • Clean Water Qualification, with a strong understanding of clean water treatment processes and practices.
  • SHEA Water Qualification, with a strong understanding of water treatment and safety practices.
  • DSEAR Awareness, with a strong understanding of hazardous materials and safety practices.
  • PASMA Trained, with a strong understanding of mobile access equipment and safety practices.
  • CSCS Gold Card, with a strong understanding of construction and site safety practices.
