Ryde Farm Estate, a premier 2000-acre private estate in Surrey, is seeking a skilled Groundsman to join its team. As a Groundsman, you will be responsible for maintaining the estate's immaculate grounds, including lawn care, hedge trimming, and leaf collection.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the estate's lawns through regular mowing, trimming, and weeding.
  • Collect and dispose of gardening team arisings to ensure the estate grounds remain immaculate.
  • Perform hedge cutting and maintenance of shrubs and shrubbery beds.
  • Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment, including ride-on and pedestrian mowers.
  • Assist in the annual orchard pruning and woodland flailing.
  • Collaborate with the Estate Manager and Head Gardener to plan and execute work programs.
  • Maintain a high standard of tidiness and cleanliness of tools and shed to ensure biosecurity.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in groundskeeping or a similar role, preferably in a large private estate or similar setting.
  • Competency in operating landscaping equipment, including ride-on and pedestrian mowers.
  • Physical fitness and ability to undertake manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
  • A keen eye for detail and a strong sense of pride in maintaining high standards of estate presentation.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • A valid driver's license is essential; certifications in spraying (PA1/PA6AW), chainsaw ticket, first aid, and health and safety are highly desirable.
