Compliance Analyst

At Drax Group, we're seeking a highly skilled Compliance Analyst to join our Wholesale Market Compliance (WMC) team. As a key member of our team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the group's trading and generation operations comply with regulatory requirements.

About the Role:

As a Compliance Analyst, you'll be responsible for facilitating compliance advisory and assurance activities across the group's trading and generation operations. You'll work closely with the Senior Compliance Manager and the wider WMC team to deliver physical and financial regulatory compliance across the group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain knowledge of energy/financial wholesale markets and regulatory frameworks, including REMIT, MAR, MiFID II, EMIR, TCLC, IOLC, S&P, and FSMA/RAO.
  • Provide compliance guidance to trading, commercial, and strategy colleagues on current and forthcoming regulatory developments.
  • Conduct investigations, including data gathering, complex analysis, and presenting conclusions and recommendations to management.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to build trust, confidence, and respect while challenging the status quo.

Requirements:

  • Education to degree level with a basic understanding of wholesale physical and financial markets.
  • Prior experience working with commercial teams, including 24hr trading functions.
  • Strong negotiating, influencing, and communicating skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
