SEN Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate SEN Specialist to join our dynamic team at a primary school in Chelmsford, Essex.

About the Role

As a SEN Specialist, you will provide 1:1 support to children with special educational, social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties, ensuring their full integration into classroom activities and progression.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement individualized learning plans and activities tailored to meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Collaborate with class teachers and the SENCo to develop and implement effective strategies for supporting children with Autism and other special needs.
  • Build trusting relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in SEN support and participate in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of Autism and effective strategies for supporting children with this need.
  • Knowledge and empathy for social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as cognitive challenges affecting children and young people's development.
  • Exceptional listening skills and ability to build trusting relationships.
  • Resilience and ability to take on regular responsibility for agreed learning activities.
