Security Assistant

Assystem is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Security Assistant to support the efficient and effective coordination of personnel security within the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing vetting applications, monitoring existing clearances, and providing support and advice on security policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Process vetting applications for staff and contractors, ensuring timely and efficient completion.
- Monitor existing clearances and proactively ensure renewals are carried out in a timely manner.
- Advise and update on changes in policies and procedures related to vetting.
- Liaise with external agencies to verify internal and external clearances.
- Ensure personnel security risks are effectively managed through rigorous checks and ongoing controls.
- Act as a point of contact for staff and contractors for vetting and security enquiries, ensuring effective and efficient handling.
- Support security incident reporting, follow-up actions, and sharing learning from experiences.
- Provide project-specific security support for key projects.
- Be a point of contact for site-specific security responsibilities, including issuing site passes.
- Provide general security assistance to the Security Department as needed.
- Microsoft Office suite experience, specifically Word and Excel.
- Previous experience in a similar security role is beneficial.
- Attended DISA Training.
- Reliable, self-motivated, honest, and trustworthy.
- Good organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, and prioritize workload.
- Methodical and accurate.
- Ability to gain and maintain appropriate security clearance.
